Early Childhood Family Associate Endorsement with UAIMH
KT Mendes is a Certified Social Worker (CSW), family therapist, and play therapist based in Utah. Originally from the East Coast, KT was drawn to the natural beauty of Utah and now provides compassionate, trauma-informed therapy services for children, families, and adults.
KT specializes in play therapy and child mental health services in Utah, helping children build confidence, resilience, and emotional security. She works closely with parents and caregivers to strengthen family connections, improve communication, and nurture deeper bonds.
With specialized training in infant and early childhood mental health through the Utah Association of Infant Mental Health, KT uses evidence-based approaches including relational therapy and child-centered play therapy. Her goal is to create safe, supportive spaces where children can thrive and caregivers feel empowered in their parenting journey.
In addition to child and family therapy, KT provides adult therapy in Utah for individuals seeking support with personal growth, identity exploration, trauma recovery, and relationship challenges.
She has extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, individuals in Ethical Non-Monogamous relationships, and those navigating complex trauma. KT draws from modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and EMDR therapy to meet each client’s unique needs.
Whether through play therapy for children, family counseling, or individual therapy for adults in Utah, KT offers a warm, non-judgmental environment where healing and growth can take place.
Outside the therapy room, KT enjoys time with their partner and three dogs, reading, and engaging in creative art projects.
